Netflix’s Rise in Subscribers: Successful Measures Against Password Sharing

#Netflix Subscriber Base Soars

Netflix has gained a whopping 9.33 million new users in the first quarter of 2024, thanks to its crackdown on password sharing. By limiting accounts to single households, more people are signing up for their own subscriptions instead of relying on shared ones. This surge in subscribers has exceeded expectations and nearly doubled previous forecasts.

With this boost, Netflix now has a total of 269.6 million subscribers worldwide. The company attributes this success not only to its password-sharing policy but also to new features like “transfer profile” and “extra member,” making it easier for users to manage their accounts and potentially share access within a household for an additional fee.

The long-term sustainability of this growth remains to be seen, but for now, Netflix is enjoying the benefits of its new policy.
